Precitec joins AESEMI as a partner

Precitec, a German company specialising in laser technology and 3D optical metrology for high-precision industrial processes, has joined the Spanish Semiconductor Industry Association (AESEMI) as a partner.

Founded in 1971 as a small engineering firm in Baden-Baden (Germany), Precitec is now an independent family-run business operating worldwide. The group has its laser technology headquarters in Gaggenau and its 3D metrology headquarters in Neu-Isenburg; it has wholly-owned subsidiaries in eight countries and is represented by agents in a further fifteen. Throughout its history, it has carried out more than 100,000 installations for customers worldwide.

The company develops and manufactures advanced solutions for high-precision industrial processes, including 3D and non-contact optical metrology, laser process monitoring and control, inspection and quality control, as well as laser cutting and welding technologies. In the field of semiconductors, its optical measurement technology enables the non-destructive and high-precision analysis of wafers in applications such as total thickness variation (TTV) measurement, crack detection, bump inspection, curvature control, and dicing and bonding processes. Its sensors measure the thickness of wafers, bonds and layers at high speed, even in situ during CMP, backgrinding or spin etching processes. In addition to semiconductors and microelectronics, its solutions are used in sectors such as the automotive, electronics, aerospace and advanced manufacturing industries.

Thanks to its ongoing commitment to investing in in-house development, Precitec has established itself as a technology partner for companies requiring precise, efficient and reliable production processes. Its membership of AESEMI reinforces its commitment to collaboration within the technology ecosystem and to promoting initiatives that contribute to industrial development and the competitiveness of the sector in Spain.

Since 2021, AESEMI has been the leading organisation in the Spanish semiconductor industry. With over 100 member companies and organisations, it promotes collaboration and competitiveness within the sector and helps to raise the profile of the national microelectronics ecosystem, strengthening its presence both in Europe and internationally.
