Plasmatreat Iberia joins AESEMI as a partner

Plasmatreat Iberia, a company specialising in advanced plasma surface treatment technologies with a strong international presence, has joined the Spanish Semiconductor Industry Association (AESEMI) as a partner. This addition strengthens the collaboration network in the field of microelectronics and contributes to the development of the technological ecosystem in Europe and Spain.

Founded in 1995 in Steinhagen (Germany) and headquartered in Madrid since 2020, Plasmatreat Iberia is part of the global Plasmatreat group, a leader in plasma surface treatment solutions. The company combines more than 20 years of experience in technological innovation with a consolidated international presence, offering systems and equipment for microfine cleaning, surface activation and functional coatings using patented technologies such as Openair-Plasma® and PlasmaPlus®.

Plasmatreat stands out for its focus on efficiency, sustainability and industrial process improvement, working closely with industrial partners, research centres and trade associations to promote customised, environmentally friendly solutions. Its centre in Madrid has a materials testing laboratory and a process simulation test room, enabling it to support both research and industrialisation activities.

In the semiconductor industry, Openair-Plasma® technology enables particle-free process control, reducing waste and increasing quality. In addition to perfect adhesion and optimum wettability, the service life and stability of the finished product are also improved. Interface failures, such as delamination (IDM) or internal cracking (CCM), can be significantly minimised by specific plasma pretreatment.

With a philosophy based on continuous innovation, sustainability and technological collaboration, Plasmatreat Iberia positions itself as a strategic partner in the adoption of advanced manufacturing processes and plasma surface treatment solutions, adding value to the Spanish and European technological ecosystem.

AESEMI, meanwhile, was founded in 2021 and represents the leading Spanish companies engaged in microelectronic design and semiconductor manufacturing. With more than 100 members, one of its objectives is to raise the profile of all the entities that form part of the semiconductor technology ecosystem in Spain.
