The Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC) is a Public Research Organisation responsible for the operation of the Canary Islands Observatories: the Teide Observatory on Tenerife and the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory on the island of La Palma. It is a research centre with a broad international dimension, in which large-scale projects in professional astrophysics, development activities in the most advanced technologies in its field, training of researchers and technologists, cultural dissemination and technology transfer to the environment through cooperation with the most important international consortiums and with industry are carried out.
