Institute of Microelectronics of Seville (IMSE-CNM)

The Institute of Microelectronics of Seville (IMSE-CNM) is a joint research centre of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the University of Seville. Together with the Institute of Microelectronics in Barcelona and the Institute of Micro and Nanotechnology in Madrid, it forms part of the National Microelectronics Centre.

The institute started its activity in 1989 and currently employs more than 100 people specialised in the design of advanced microelectronic circuits and systems. It houses 1,000m2 of laboratories equipped with advanced instrumentation for the encapsulation, assembly and characterisation of electronic circuits and complex systems. It has leading researchers in the international microelectronic design rankings and a master’s degree in microelectronic design.

The Institute also participates in different activities of technology and knowledge transfer to companies in the microelectronics sector, both national and foreign. These activities take the form of participation in numerous research contracts, the organisation of training courses and the provision of different scientific and technical consultancy services to companies and administrations that require them.
