Quintauris joins AESEMI

Quintauris, a global supplier of RISC-V-based products, has joined the Spanish Semiconductor Industry Association (AESEMI). This partnership reinforces the network of technological collaboration and helps to strengthen the industrial and innovation ecosystem in Spain and Europe.

Founded in December 2023 and with offices in Munich (Germany) and Granada, Quintauris is backed by Bosch, Infineon, Nordic Semiconductor, NXP Semiconductors, Qualcomm and STMicroelectronics, leading players in the semiconductor industry. Its mission is to accelerate the global adoption of RISC-V, the open-standard instruction set architecture (ISA), by facilitating the development of next-generation processors for automotive, industrial and IoT applications.

To this end, the company develops profiles, reference architectures and software components that enable compatibility between RISC-V-based products and promote their adoption across multiple industries. Among its developments, RT-Europa stands out; the company presents this as the first real-time RISC-V platform for the automotive sector, which aims to reduce the effort required to reuse software across different implementations, facilitating adaptation to different IP and system configurations.

Its offering also includes profiles for embedded systems, such as EM-Altair, and covers application processors, microcontrollers, real-time processors and professional services. Although its initial focus has been on the automotive sector, the company is also targeting the IoT and is committed to expanding its activities into areas such as artificial intelligence and data centres.

In Spain, Quintauris collaborates with the University of Granada, with which it has set up the Quintauris Learning Centre to promote innovation, training and knowledge transfer relating to RISC-V through specialised training programmes, student work placements, research collaboration and workshops. Its membership of AESEMI reinforces its commitment to collaboration within the technology ecosystem and to promoting initiatives that contribute to industrial development and the sector’s competitiveness in Spain.

Founded in 2021, AESEMI now brings together more than 100 companies and organisations linked to the semiconductor industry in Spain. The association works to foster collaboration amongst its members, strengthen the sector’s competitiveness and raise the profile of the national microelectronics ecosystem, with the aim of consolidating its strategic position in Europe and on the international stage.
