Innova IRV Microelectronics, a new member of AESEMI

The Spanish Semiconductor Industry Association (AESEMI) welcomes Innova IRV Microelectronics as a new member. With this addition, the national microelectronics and semiconductor ecosystem is strengthened by the membership of a company specialising in the development of RISC-V SoC solutions for secure, ultra-low-power embedded systems.

Innova IRV Microelectronics SL, a subsidiary of the Ricardo Valle Institute for Innovation Foundation (Innova IRV), specialises in the automotive, smart cities and Internet of Things sectors, reducing costs and development times whilst accelerating European technological sovereignty through its integration into newly launched products.

Among others, Innova IRV Microelectronics SL has developed the RISCcom project, co-funded by the CDTI through the MISIONES PERTE CHIP programme under the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which aims to pool knowledge and efforts to position Spain as a leader in the microelectronics sector, through research into key technologies such as Microprocessor Architecture (RISC-V), integrated radio frequency and the assessment of cybersecurity in embedded systems.

In addition, it is working on the ULPERT project, co-funded by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism as part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, through the Programme to Boost the Microelectronics and Semiconductors Value Chain (ICV/ME) of the European Union’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, focusing on the feasibility study of a very low-power RISC-V SoC for IoT applications.

These and other projects currently in development are in line with Innova IRV Microelectronics SL’s primary objective of supporting the growth and consolidation of the digital technology sector.

By joining this initiative, Innova IRV Microelectronics SLU is strengthening its commitment to participating in, collaborating with, and promoting strategic partnerships with key players in the scientific, industrial and business sectors.

AESEMI, for its part, was founded in 2021 and represents the leading Spanish companies specialising in microelectronic design and semiconductor manufacturing. One of its key objectives is to raise the profile of all the organisations that form part of Spain’s semiconductor technology ecosystem. Thanks to this platform, the growth of the domestic industry is being driven forward and large companies are being provided with access to solutions that contribute to global decarbonisation and digitalisation commitments, which are fundamental pillars of the country’s technological competitiveness.
