University of Granada

The University of Granada was founded in 1531, being the continuation of a long teaching tradition that is linked to that of the Madrasa of the last Nasrid Kingdom. The University is very present in the city of Granada, enjoying the peculiar beauty of its surroundings and a privileged geographical situation due to its proximity to the Sierra Nevada and the Mediterranean coast.

In Granada there are four University Campuses, in addition to the “Campus Centro”, which includes all the centres scattered around the historic centre of the city. More than 60,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students study at the UGR and another 10,000 take complementary, language, summer, etc. courses. In addition, 3,500 lecturers teach and more than 2,000 administrative, technical and service staff work there.
