Valencia Silicon Cluster (VaSiC), an industrial and technological association bringing together the leading microelectronics and integrated photonics companies in the Valencian Community, has joined the Spanish Semiconductor Industry Association (AESEMI) as a partner. This move strengthens the network of technological collaboration and helps to bolster the industrial and innovation ecosystem in Spain and Europe.
VaSiC is at the heart of the Valencian ecosystem dedicated to the development of technologies based on silicon, the key material in the manufacture of microchips and semiconductors. The association was founded with the aim of strengthening the Valencian microchip ecosystem by fostering collaboration between companies, universities and research centres, with a view to making Valencia a European leader in semiconductor technology.
The organisation brings together companies, technology centres and universities working on the design, manufacture and application of electronic and photonic chips, positioning the Valencian Community as a strategic hub in the new digital era. Its work combines strengthening collaboration between the various stakeholders in the sector with attracting new business, technology and investment projects, bringing together talent, industry and knowledge around silicon-based innovation.
VaSiC leads initiatives aimed at promoting technological sovereignty and industrial competitiveness, ranging from the creation of training infrastructure such as the Chip Chairs at the University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University of Valencia, to the promotion of an International Semiconductor Campus. It is also the organising body behind the Valencia Silicon Forum, a leading event for the sector that brings together companies, institutions and professionals from the semiconductor industry.
With a clear commitment to technological innovation and collaboration amongst stakeholders within the ecosystem, VaSiC has established itself as a strategic player in the development of the Valencian microchip industry. Its membership of AESEMI reinforces its commitment to cooperation within the technology ecosystem and to promoting initiatives that contribute to industrial development and the sector’s competitiveness in Spain.
Since its creation in 2021, AESEMI has served as a leading organisation for the Spanish semiconductor industry, bringing together more than 100 companies and organisations from the sector. Its work focuses on fostering collaboration, strengthening competitiveness and raising the profile of the national microelectronics ecosystem as a whole, thereby enhancing its strategic positioning at both European and international levels.
