On Wednesday 19 February, AESEMI attended a meeting convened by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Public Administration, which was attended, in addition to the Minister Óscar López, by the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure, Antonio Hernando, and the Director General of the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT), Javier Ponce.

We attended the meeting together with other organisations representing the sector such as CEOE, UGT, CCOO, SECPHO, AMETIC, VaSIC, IMDEA Nanoscience and the University of Castilla-La Mancha.
At the meeting, the public representatives presented the main advances developed within the framework of the PERTE CHIP, as well as the current status of SETT, the main agent in the implementation of the programme. For our part, we emphasised the need to continue making progress in various aspects: adapting the regulatory framework to better establish investments; improving the academic framework, reinforcing the structures created with the CHIP chairs and establishing new ones with different universities; improving the international projection of our sector; and promoting reforms that ensure the long-term viability of the projects initiated within the framework of the PERTE CHIP.
AESEMI is at the disposal of the administrations to provide the necessary support along the way. The uniqueness of our sector makes it necessary for the administrations to rely permanently on collaborating organisations that allow actions to permeate the ecosystem. As we have already done on an international level or in attracting investment, we will continue to work hand in hand with all the agents to promote our chip sector.
AESEMI is very grateful for the organisation and convening of this session, and we hope that it will lay the foundations for a discussion group that will meet on a regular basis in order to involve the ecosystem’s dynamic agents in the governance of PERTE CHIP.
