Indra Group joins AESEMI

The Spanish Semiconductor Industry Association (AESEMI) welcomed the Indra Group on 13 April with the signing of an agreement at the Ágora in the company’s Technology Innovation Centre, located in Arroyo de la Vega. The event was attended by Carlos Pardo and Alfonso Gabarrón, president and manager of AESEMI respectively, and, representing Indra, Joaquín Ponz, director of the Innovation Portfolio and Governance (CTO) division, and José Miguel Pascual, director of the Technology Innovation Centre.

The inclusion of the Indra Group marks a significant milestone for AESEMI, as it brings on board one of Spain’s leading technology companies, with a presence in over 140 countries and a workforce of more than 60,000 professionals. Its industrial clout, its involvement in strategic programmes and its capacity for technological development significantly strengthen the national microelectronics and semiconductor ecosystem.

With this new member, AESEMI welcomes a key player in the development of advanced technologies, particularly in fields such as radio frequency, state-of-the-art microelectronics and highly complex system architectures – areas that are fundamental to the industry’s progress.

The Indra Group develops innovative technological solutions designed to tackle global challenges through digitalisation and the use of advanced technologies. The company operates as a holding company that brings together capabilities through its main brands: Indra, which specialises in defence, air traffic management and space, and Minsait, which focuses on digital transformation and information technology. Through these areas, it is driving a safer, more connected and more sustainable future.

The multinational stands out for its commitment to innovation and the development of proprietary solutions that combine advanced engineering, electronics and software. It also integrates key technologies alongside the development of gallium nitride (GaN)-based components and FPGA design, which are essential for high-performance applications. This commitment to strategic microelectronics is further reinforced through significant industrial investments, such as its participation in SPARC, aimed at strengthening advanced semiconductor capabilities within the European ecosystem.

AESEMI, for its part, founded in 2021, represents the leading Spanish companies specialising in microelectronic design and semiconductor manufacturing. Its key objectives include raising the profile of organisations within Spain’s technology ecosystem, driving the growth of the domestic industry, and facilitating access to solutions that contribute to global commitments on decarbonisation and digitalisation.
