The Spanish Technology Platform for the Adoption and Dissemination of Electronic, Information and Communication Technologies (PLANETIC), funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, has signed a collaboration agreement with the Spanish Semiconductor Industry Association (AESEMI) to promote the sector.
The collaboration between the two entities seeks to promote and give visibility to the Spanish semiconductor sector. This work is especially relevant in the current international situation, in which semiconductors are a key factor in the industry.
The PLANETIC platform’s mission is to offer a global and integrated vision of innovation in the Spanish digital technology sector, combining efforts and complementarities. With the intention of consolidating the value of technology platforms, PLANETIC aims to meet the digital transformation needs of the different Spanish economic sectors, promote the international positioning of the Spanish digital technology sector and serve as a common workspace for R&D&I agents and companies in the sector. Thus, PLANETIC supports a wide range of technologies and fields of action, from micro and nanotechnologies to intelligent systems, embedded systems, software, services, Big Data or artificial intelligence, among others.
AESEMI, for its part, aims to represent the main Spanish companies dedicated to microelectronic design and semiconductor manufacturing. Among its objectives is to give visibility to all the companies that form part of the Spanish semiconductor and microelectronics technology ecosystem, as well as to promote the sector at national and international level.
