The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) joins the Spanish Semiconductor Association (AESEMI) to add its experience and capacity to the Spanish semiconductor ecosystem.
UAB, founded in 1968, is a leading institution with 112 bachelor’s degrees and 140 university master’s programmes. It is among the leading Spanish universities in world rankings such as the QS World University Rankings (QS WUR), the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
In the field of microelectronics, the UAB has the UAB Research Park (PRUAB), a non-profit foundation created in 2007 by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Institute of Agri-Food Research and Technology (IRTA). This institution facilitates and promotes the transfer of knowledge generated by the research groups of the UAB Sphere, as well as its R&D&I capabilities, in order to meet the innovation needs of the economic and social environment.
From AESEMI we celebrate this incorporation because of the value it brings to our entity as a whole, as well as because it is a relevant step in the cohesion of the Spanish semiconductor ecosystem.
